IBM Watson
Highlighting the power of Watson to help users build complex conversations
MY ROLE + TEAM
I worked with a team of designers, developers, information developers, project managers, and the Watson branding team to create a new conversational application. We highlighted the power of Watson cognitive computing to help users build complex conversations.
I co-led the visual design effort for this release of Watson Engagement Advisor. We built a relationship with the Watson branding team. As a result of this relationship, we are among the first teams to implement the new look and feel for Watson in a product. I regularly met with customers, and I visited one high-profile customer on site.
Our design and development teams were global, with team members across cities in the United Kingdom and the United States.
ABOUT WATSON ENGAGEMENT ADVISOR
Watson Engagement Advisor is a technology service that interacts with customers, listens to questions, and offers solutions. Watson learns with every human interaction and grows his collection of knowledge, quickly adapting to the way humans think. Customers include companies in hospitality and education, such as Hilton and Deakin University.
Approach
For this release, we have desktop, tablet, and mobile applications. We used agile and IBM Design Thinking in our approach to efficiently and effectively tackle challenges. Our team also used GitHub Enterprise to track issues and work through our stories to complete the design and code on time.
OUTCOMES
We presented our designs to the General Manager of IBM Watson and we received high praise for our work. In addition, a selection of my designs have been included in the new Watson branding guidelines that are released worldwide.
